Why work with a

Holistic Nutritionist?

A Holistic Nutritionist (HN) will approach each client by considering the whole body and its connection to diet and lifestyle. By taking the time to explore each client’s individual health history, life experiences and current symptoms, a HN will help identify the root cause of any imbalances. Working within a philosophy of prevention and self-responsibility, a HN will consider imbalances with an educational approach, and create an individualized program to support each client’s health goals.

Some people may want to work with a HN to further support a medical treatment plan. Others simply want to improve their cooking skills, get suggestions for healthy eating, recipes and meal plans. People with allergies and food intolerances may see a HN to improve their immune response and increase their knowledge around safe and delicious food preparation. Some people with disordered eating might see a HN to seek food freedom, and establish a positive, healthy relationship with wholesome food.

Overall, the goal of the Holistic Nutritionist is to use diet and lifestyle protocols to support the body’s ability to heal and to thrive naturally, regardless of the current state of health.

About Chelsi

Chelsi Ferguson

Registered Nutritional Consulting Practitioner (RNCP) with a professional designation with the International Order of Nutritional Consultants (IONC).

I am a second-generation Nutritionist; my mother has been a Nutritionist herself for over 30 years. It wasn’t until I experienced my own health crisis that I turned back to the roots of my upbringing. Like so many people, I found myself caught up in a fast-paced life and burning out; working, raising my children, and generally trying to keep up. Ignoring the many symptoms my body was giving me, I suffered a health breakdown.

How I resolved my health problem was strategic to my own diet and lifestyle needs; it's what worked for me. Usually, no 2 people will have the same protocol. Every individual is different. Healthy Self is built on the premise that biochemically we are all different, and in the world of nutritional science, there is no one size fits all. Optimal wellness is as individual and unique as our circumstances and our bodies.

My healing journey has led me to understand the importance of listening to the symptoms of the body. This is the only way it has of telling you something is out of balance. My job is to help you identify and to get your system back in balance. The human body has the amazing ability to respond and heal naturally.

Today, as a Holistic Nutritionist, I am inspired to work with individuals and families that want to make sustainable, long-term changes to diet and lifestyle that empower them to thrive and be their healthiest selves.
