Nut Butter Brownies

These brownies are made without grains, gluten, dairy, refined sugar, flour, and eggs. They are rich, gooey, extremely chocolatey, and delicious!

Healthy Nut Butter Brownies Halifax

Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup all natural nut butter (almond, hazelnut, peanut, etc. Crunchy or smooth works

  • 1/3 Cup maple syrup

  • 1/4 Cup apple sauce

  • 2 tsp vanilla

  • 1/4 Cup cocoa powder

  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder

  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

  • 1/2 tsp sea salt

  • 1/2 Cup chopped walnuts

  • 1/2 Cup chocolate chips (sugar/dairy content will vary by brand )

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325.

  • Combine nut butter, maple syrup, applesauce and vanilla in a large bowl.

  • Combine cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt in another bowl.

  • Combine all ingredients, adding the walnuts and chocolate chips.

  • Press into a parchment lined 8-inch square baking pan (use coconut oil if you don’t have parchment).

  • Bake for 18-20 mins at 325.

  • Let the brownies cool completely (if possible) before slicing
